I am fascinated in the transience of our surroundings. In objects that show a battered, forgotten life: proudly displaying their impermanence, but going unnoticed. Over time we repair ad mend. A fresh coat of paint, filling a cracked wall. Inevitably these fixes themselves deteriorate, but in this we gain something new, something different from the original. In this collection I focus on this balance of the resilient with fragility. How we protect the damaged or allow it to continue alone in its decline. As much as time deteriorates, there will always remain a sense of what was there before.

Photos of my last collection of rings. Continuing with the beauty in decay idea. Things change and i find it really interesting to make something that will knowingly change through wearing. The idea that it will get in the way, pick up little nicks here and there.

photos: Alys Newton, Karin Johansson- Platina
A couple of months back i was super lucky and got to go to Stockholm for a long weekend. Such a nice city with lovely people and some amazing shops and galleries. Got to go to Weekday for the first time, eek! But more importantly I was able to visit Gallery Platina. So, so nice! When i was there they were showing the Karin Johansson, Abstractions of a City Exhibition, really interesting!
